DIY Christmas Crackers
Upcycle That Leftover Wallpaper
Step 1 | Raid the Wallpaper Stash
Remember that roll of Lust Home wallpaper left over from your epic room transformation? The one that turned your space into a total Pinterest dream? Well, it’s time for this leftover legend to shine. Bonus points if the pattern feels festive, but honestly, anything funky will do the trick!
Step 2 | Gather the Goods
Here's what you need:
. Your leftover Lust Home wallpaper
. Empty toilet paper rolls
. Ribbon, string, or whatever shiny thing you can find
. Tape or glue
. Small surprises for the inside (candy canes, jokes, mini lip balms...)
Step 3 | Cut the Wallpaper
Grab your wallpaper and cut a piece about A4 size (that’s 21cm x 30cm, but don’t worry if it’s not spot-on). Next, measure 8cm in from each edge and sketch a line down the page. Then, do the same at 10cm in. Now comes the fun part: draw a row of diamonds between those two lines - just make sure they’re social distancing and not touching! Snip, snip, and you’re good to go.
Step 4 | Roll it Like a Burrito
Lay the wallpaper flat, place the empty toilet roll in the centre, and roll it up snug. Secure it with tape or glue like you’re wrapping a little wallpaper baby.
Step 5 | Tie the Ends (Cute Vibes Only)
Pinch one end of the wallpaper just past the edge of the roll and tie it off with ribbon or string. It should look like a giant sweet wrapper now.
Step 6 | Fill 'Em Up
Slide your goodies into the open end - tiny gifts, candy canes, a bad joke written on scrap paper (What’s an elf’s favourite music genre? Wrap…)
Step 7 | Secure the Other End
Pinch and tie the other end like you did the first. Admire your work. You are an artiste!
Step 8 | Show Them Off
Place them on the Christmas dinner table, hang them from the tree, or just hand them out while shouting, “I made this!” Don’t forget to tag us on Instagram too - @lust.home
